Winter is coming to a close and it’s about time for the spring showers to start. You need to start preparing now to enjoy the season to the fullest. If it’s a hot day that might be nice but most days it’s a bother. If you get black tarps, they will double as great protection from the snow next winter too. Covering the garden furniture will protect it from the direct damage of the snow but the black color will help the snow melt so plastic furniture won’t get destroyed by the weight of the snow.

I used to live in New England where you would sometimes see 7 feet of snow in 24 hours. That adds up fast. Speak of patio furniture, you need to make sure that any furniture you intend you use outside can handle the weather. I’ve already touched on snow but if your patio furniture is not properly sealed then the moisture could make some natural fibers and materials rot. I don’t like plastic patio furniture so I try to avoid it. Plastic is susceptible to sun damage as well so if you plan to buy plastic patio furniture make sure that it’s high quality and rated for UV resistance. The last thing you should really get is a canopy. Canopies are great cover from both the sun and the rain. If you just want a little shade, some canopies come in varying degrees of opacity.
